I had a Mentee watch “someone else on YT” they said “bring up a brood frame…they took a brood frame up from the middle and dropped in a new foundation frame in the center of the lower box and absolutely split up the brood 😢…. they swarmed, went Queenless, had lots of foragers, lots of honey, but ultimately crashed🫣

Hey Laurence at 17:08 you pulled the Q cell off that had the dropped larvae in it. You then put it back into the hive and then at 17:46 you pulled out the frame next to it. You can clearly see that there are Q cells that you had missed at 17:08

I have one of my original Queens. Which this will be her 6 year I did not think she was going to come through she's always went through winter small but this spring she might have had two cups of bee's but she made a full house I split her off about a month ago I need to splits not counting the original hive going to see if the Queens come back . I was told one time she had to swarm in 6 years she can't she don't have any wings she used to keep her daughter Queen with her but she did not do it this year

Excellent video. I really enjoyed that one👍 I found the same with those frames because the Hoffman spacing on the side bars aren't consistent there is no bee space for the bees to go around the frames, so they tunnel through.

Hiya Laurence, I hope all is going well with your small bundle of joy 🙂, Laurence yesterday while I was out my Bees swarmed 🫨, and took my beautiful Queen with them, I was devastated, they went in the tree about a 100 yards from their hive, to cut a long story short, the man that lives in that house, phoned a Bee keeper that I don’t no, to come and get them, but to cut a long story short, my son (who doesn’t now much about Bees) asked could he pay him so I could have them back to put in my other hive, but he told him they wouldn’t stay there, and he took them with him, I’ve gone through every frame in my hive again today, and in one week, they have filled the two honey supers and also the middle of the brood box, there are no eggs but there are small larvae and some capped brood, and I still have a about two thirds of my colony, I’ve knocked the one Queen sell down that I found (it wasn’t capped) and I’ve ordered another mated F1 buckfast Queen from you, last night, I’ve ordered it for Thursday delivery, ( not sure if I should have waited a bit first incase they could still raise another queen themselves ?) my hive was doing to well Laurance 😟, I wish I would have done my in inspection the day before, I might have been able to get her in the Nuk, she had no where to lay, any way that was a hard lesson learned, just thought I would share my experience with you, kind regards Billie ❤️

One of my yellows was just superseded . She was a double layer. Saw double grubs for a couple years! Otherwise a good colony.

Please Laurence add a small "outro" to your videos, I only give likes at the very end of a video and often miss then end of yours, even 5 secs would be plenty, just so I know it's ending. I use the same brand of gloves, might be a different style, I get mine on Amazon.

How many stings do you take in them

Seems to be working. I have seen a video where you use poly ashforth feeders as crown boards. Cool idea, do you need to block the entrances to them to stop bees going up into them and building comb in them?
